Judging by the building, this used to be a KOA at one time. The park is covered with large shady trees and has good full hookups with free wi-fi. The sites are spacious and graveled, as are the access roads. The back-in sites are easy enough but the pull-thru's are kind of weird. The pull-thrus exit onto a narrow grafvel road that separates two bank of pull-thru sites in the center of the park. It's too tight to turn a 40' coach through there so we wound up backing out. If the site ahead of you is empty you'd be fine. They could use a wider road in that spot. The trees are large and mature so you're not going to get a satellite connection here. They are tight near the end of the sites so exiting will require a spotter and a bit of maneuvering. Still, it's a decent park and the best in the area. There's a few things to do here. The largest blimp hangar is here, the Tillamook Cheese factory, and nearby beaches offer great beach combing.

Cape Lookout State Park can be reached by traveling an hour and a half west of Portland through the scenic Wilson River pass. I purposely did not X the Big Rig box, even though the web site says 60ft max length, and some turns through the trees may be difficult. When we last visited, our 36ft rig, with no toad barely got into the only available site on a Thursday afternoon with no reservations. The beach is a short walk over the dune, and dogs can run free once you are away from the populated area. It is tough to beat the sunsets. The beach is eroding very fast, in the 2 years since our last visit, it was very noticeable. You can reserve online.
